Andhra Pradesh FCC appoints special committee to deal with dubbed films

Hyderabad, Nov 7 : The Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce has appointed a special committee to look into the flood of dubbed films in Tollywood.

Directors-- Suresh Babu, Dilraju, Vijayendara Reddy and Natti Kumar would take necessary steps not to allow release of dubbed movies in the state during festivals like Sankranthi, Dasara, Vinayaka Chavithi and Deepawali.

The Film Chamber members also requested the state government to increase the entertainment tax on dubbed movies from 20 to 50 per cent, sources said.

Tollywood is under squeeze with flooding of dubbed movies for the last few years. The representatives of the film industry recently met Chief Minster N Kirankumar Reddy and requested him to initiate steps to curb this trend as they posed a threat to original films

  1. I fully agree with the proposal as the very first preference should given to Telugu films.
