A tribute to rich Telugu culture

‘Teluguiniti adpaduchula veshadaranam' is the highlight of the cultural show


Ethnic flavour:Schoolchildren get a taste of ‘Ugadi pachadi' before taking part in a cultural show in Ongole on Saturday.

ONGOLE: In a bid to create awareness among the generation next on the rich Telugu culture, a school in the town organised celebrations on Saturday to invite the ‘Khara namasamvatsaram', the Telugu New Year beginning on Monday.

“Teluguiniti adpaduchula veshadaranam” by tiny-tots was the highlight of the celebrations organised at the Bashyam Little Champs School here to rejoice Ugadi which falls on “Chaitra Shudhdha Paadyami” day.

A ‘kavi samelan' (literary discussion) was organised with participation by, among others, Ashtavadhani U. Rajini Gangadhar and Prakasam District Rachayuthala Sangam secretary Ponnuri Srinivasulu. Eminent literary persons were honoured on the occasion.

The traditional ‘Ugadi pachadi', a combination of sweet, sour and bitter tastes was distributed to everyone
