Rosaiah invited to Malaysian Telugu meet

HYDERABAD: The Telugu Association of Malaysia (TAM) has invited Chief Minister K. Rosaiah on behalf of their Prime Minister to participate in the 150 Malaysian Telugu Heritage anniversary celebrations being held in Malaysia on October 8.

Malaysian Prime Minister Mohd. Najib Bin Tun Abdul Razak, will be the chief guest at the function.

TAM president Dr. Achaiah Kumar Rao called on the Chief Minister here on Saturday, extending a formal invitation to him. Mr. Rosaiah thanked the Malaysian Prime Minister for the gesture and said he would try to attend the celebrations.

Celebrations

The event is being organised marking the official landing of the Telugu community in Malaysia 150 years ago. TAM is a representative organisation of over 5 lakh Telugus living in Malaysia. It was formed to promote and safeguard Telugu culture, language and heritage
